Alpha Plumbing replaced a water heater for a homeowner in Pasadena. As the customer’s previous water heater was an 80-gallon electric unit, new energy regulations made a like-for-like replacement impossible. To make up for the disparity between the old 80-gallon unit and the new 50-gallon one, Alpha Pluming installed a tank booster. The tank booster mixes cold water from the input valve with heated water that comes from the hot valve so that the water heater can be set at a higher temperature without delivering scalding water. Alpha Plumbing also replaced the recirculating pump, check valve and isolation valves. Upon completion of the job, we hauled the old heater from the site.
