Is my drain pipe okay?
Would a Video Sewer Inspection be helpful?

Video Sewer Inspection
If we had x-ray vision underground sewer inspection and locating would be simple. Anyone could do it. Unfortunately, we don’t. That’s where video sewer inspection comes into the picture. The camera is inserted into drain lines and used to determine the exact problem with a pipe. Problems that are routinely found include breaks, cracks, collapses, root infiltration, bellies (a sag in the pipe) and stubborn clogs. Once a pipe is compromised, the situation typically only gets worse. Symptoms often include backups, slow drains, sewer flies and/or sewer odors. Alpha Plumbing can help you solve all these problems.

There’s a live camera video feed that shows the plumber exactly what’s going on. If there’s a clog and there’s standing water in the pipe (other than a belly), it may be necessary to snake the line first to remove the clog. A recording can be made if necessary, but the recording is not useful in repairing the problem so are typically not made, but it may be needed for justification of work. If a problem is found the locator can be used to find the depth of the pipe and exact location of the problem and paint can be used to mark the spot(s).
