We Provide Faucet Repair, Installation, and Replacement

Your faucets are an integral part of your home’s plumbing system. It could be your kitchen faucet which provides fresh, clean water for cooking. Or it could be a bath faucet that provides water for washing, shaving, and for brushing your teeth. Or maybe it’s your tub and shower valve or Roman tub faucet that allows you and your family to bathe, shower, spring to life in the morning or just relax after a long day. Each is important.

You may be remodeling your home and desire to have a new, more stylish faucet installed. Or perhaps one of these items is leaking or dripping and needs to be repaired or replaced. Alpha Plumbing can help you. We specialize in Delta, Moen, and Kohler faucets, but can help with any product you want or have.

If you wish to install a new faucet in your home, you first need to decide whether you’d like us to provide the faucet or if you’ll provide it. We stock some basic Delta faucets on our trucks, but there are too many makes and models to be able to stock much of a selection. If you want a more stylish faucet, we suggest you go to either a hardware store or one of the area plumbing showrooms (Ferguson, Kohler, The Somerville) to find what you desire. Be sure to mention Alpha Plumbing.

Traditional kitchen faucets come in a size commonly known as an eight-inch (8″) spread, three-hole faucet. There’s one hole for the spout and two more for the shanks. The two shanks are eight inches apart at their center. There may also be a fourth hole for a pullout spray.

More modern faucets may use one, two, three, or four holes. It just depends on how they have styled it. There’s often an option for a soap dispenser in yet another hole.

Traditional center-set lavatory (bathroom) faucets come in a size commonly known as a four-inch (4″) spread, three-hole faucet. Four inches is the distance between the centers of the hot and cold shanks that go into the two outside holes. The center hole is for the drain pop-up.

More modern faucets may use one, two or three holes. It just depends on how they have styled it. Widespread bathroom faucets have a spout that is disconnected from the levers that control it. The distance between the holes on this type of faucet may be adjustable. Regardless of the style, we suggest you purchase a faucet with a metal pop-up drain assembly. The plastic ones are just not as reliable.

As for tub and shower valves and Roman tub faucets, again there’s quite a selection based on the type of tub that you have or whether you have a standalone shower. Combination tub and shower valves tend to be the simplest, but they don’t have to be. They can be joined with other valves and shower heads or handhelds to spice things up! Standalone showers tend to allow for the most creativity. They can incorporate standard shower valves, additional jets, non-traditional shower heads, steam, and even light and aromatherapy. Roman tub faucets provide an elegant look to your soaking or whirlpool tub. It can also include a handheld spray.
